What is in a name?
Well many people/kitties are interested in why my name is what it is. Well of course that all started with Mom. She has always had a thing for unusual and unique names. Nothing crazy but different. She had read a book quite some time before I was born where one of the characters was named Winter. He was a boy but mom figured it could work for either. She decided that she would one day use it. See Mom isn’t interested in having human children so she figured it would be used on one of her fur-kids. Fast forward to January of 2013 when she found me. She knew I was the name was ment for! Everything fell right into place. It starts with my eyes Mom said they are winter blue. I was also born 12/12/12 in the middle of Louisiana winter. Lastly my birth mother’s name is Frosty! It was all perfect! I would love to know how you got your name.
I know I said we would talk of my first meeting with Mom but she had to work on her truck so she could go to work. It wouldn’t start. It is good now but took up time. Luv ya and catch ya later!

OMC Winter yous mommy can wowk on caws/twucks tu??!! Dat’s wunnewful. And OMC yos fur mommy looks zactly like yous. Meez fawt dat it wus yous. MOL Meez dusn’t look much like meez fuw muddew at all. Meez looks mowe like meez fuw daddy. And aftew losin’ yet anuddew fuw baby mommy and sis Lexi wus vewy distwaught. And when meez picked hers out shes sed it wus destiny. But mommy likes a little diffewen and stwange, so hers spelled meez name Deztinee Izabella wiff da z’s and e’s stead of s’s and y’s .:)

Oh no Mom can’t work on cars! MOL She doesn’t even know how to change the oil! When the truck wouldn’t crank, or even turn over, she went and got her roommate. Before he was disabled he worked on oil rig engines and things like that. Not exactly sure but it was mechanic like and so he has general engine knowledge. He said he thought it was the battery. So they put new battery clamps in it. It still didn’t work! Then her roommate asked if it was fully in park so she jiggled the thing and it started right up! All that trouble and it wasn’t fully in park. Luckily Mom wasn’t the last to drive it, so it wasn’t her fault.
You name is beautiful Dezi. You were your Mom’s destiny as I was my Mom’s. I am happy you found each other and I love how you spell your name. 😀

Oh and I am opposite you. I look like my birth mom and not my dad. We have a picture of him and I will share it next time so you can see. Mom is a bi-color like me. He is a mitted point. As you of course are a lynx point. All very beautiful.

Winter your name is perfect and fell into place for a perfect reason. My name just ‘fell off’ mom’s tongue :0 she says she saw me and it popped into her head. Ralphie was originally named Tarzan but mom said Ralphie just felt right. Abbemay picked her name. It was the one out of the three mom tried that she turned her head to. Anne-belle the same. Mazie was originally Daisy and mom wanted to ‘erase’ the bad memory but she was old enough that too big of a change might have been hard so Mazie. There you are! All of our names.

Sometimes names are just ment to be and us kitties are lucky enough to have a human in tune with us enough to know it. That is awesome how Abbemay chose her name. 🙂 I am not yet familiar with your siblings, but I look forward to getting to know you all.

Hi Winter! I think your name suits you purrrfectly! You sure are a beautiful cat and I just love that photo of you as a wee babe – such a face!!! My name came before I did too – when my Mom and Dad decided to go to the shelter to adopt a cat after their “before me” cat went to the Bridge, Mom told Dad HE could name the new cat. He said “His name will be Sammy” – good thing I’m a boy but I could have been “Samantha” if I’d been a girl! Actually I was the only kitty in the whole shelter cat room – all the others were adults and Mom saw me FIRST – I was lucky. I was only 6 weeks old and ready to break out of prison! Lucky me. Very. Hi it’s me Anubis!! I got my name because mommy likes Egyptian and she was reading the Egyptian book of the dead when she got big Brofur Ramses. Then she had gotten baby Brofur Osiris, who went to the bridge. And when I came along she kept up the name theme and I got Anubis. all six letters!! Hi Winter! You are beautiful as ever, and your name suits you perfectly! I didn’t have a name before I arrived in my furrever home, but Meowmmy had a shortlist. On the first day, I was a lot around her, and she had to be extra-careful not to walk on me! On the first night, I came to sleep on the bed, between her and her boyfriend. That made her laugh and she said that I was always in the middle of things or people. Philosophically, the Tao is referred to as The Middle path , so the link was obvious and Tao was added to the shortlist of names. On the second day, Meowmmy took a moment with me, and asked me what my name was. She said all the names on the list very slowly to me, I didn’t move. When she said “Tao”, I meowed. I had chosen my name. 🙂

Mommy sure chose your name well Winter, what a beautiful story on how you got your name. What an adorable little wuzzy fuzzy you were, Mama kitty is gorgeous also! Gizmo got his name cause he made these cute faces and little squeaks like Gizmo from the Gremlins when I would give him his bottle, when he was a weeee little kitten. He still to this day has a very soft spoken squeaky voice, MOL. I apologize for taking so long to get here to start reading your posties, it’s been a bit nutty around the house for me lately, but things are calming down a bit now. Love Ya’s and Kisses Too!
